The Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Economic Mission to Mexico City, taking place May 3–7, reflects the growing strength of the Georgia–Mexico relationship, one of the state’s most strategic global partnerships. Mexico is Georgia’s top trading partner, accounting for billions in two-way trade each year, with more than 200 Georgia-based companies operating in Mexico and Mexican firms continuing to invest across Georgia in sectors such as logistics, automotive, food production, and advanced manufacturing. At the heart of this relationship is Mexico City, a leading business, political, and cultural capital of the Americas. The city hosts multinational headquarters, major government institutions, top universities, innovation districts, and one of Latin America’s largest technology and entrepreneurship ecosystems. It is also a global cultural hub where creativity, design, film, cuisine, and community drive economic growth, making it an ideal gateway for Georgia companies seeking expansion in one of the world’s most dynamic emerging economies.
Georgia and Mexico are deeply connected across multiple dimensions, including resilient business and trade supply chains spanning mobility, aerospace, energy, food, and consumer goods; strong education and innovation ties between institutions such as UNAM and Tec de Monterrey and Georgia Tech, Georgia State, and Emory; and a vibrant Mexican and Mexican-American community that continues to shape Georgia’s workforce, entrepreneurship, and creative economy. This mission underscores the importance of strengthening these cross-border relationships, fostering new partnerships, and advancing shared opportunities that support long-term economic growth and cultural collaboration between both regions.
