With a core focus on global commerce, smart cities, government relations, social initiatives, and story telling, we localize global efforts by uniting local and international stakeholders to co-create solutions to humanity’s most pressing challenges.

Why These Goals Matter
The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) offer a powerful framework for addressing humanity’s most urgent challenges, promoting prosperity, equity, and environmental stewardship. When the goals were launched in 2015, the target was full achievement by 2030. Yet today, we’re only 17 percent of the way there.
At THESHAREDWORLD, we are committed to changing that. Our work is deeply aligned with this global vision, with a strong focus on SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
By championing the SDGs in both local and global contexts, we help our clients and partners drive meaningful progress and accelerate impact in our communities and beyond. We also ensure that all of our initiatives and programming are intentionally designed to align with and advance the SDGs.
The United Nations projects that $5 to $7 trillion in investments per year are needed to achieve the SDGs by 2030, yet many organizations still struggle to secure funding for sustainable initiatives (Source: UN).

Meet Our Founder
Champion of Global Collaboration
For over 15 years, Vanessa Ibarra has passionately dedicated herself to the fields of international affairs, economic development, and community engagement. She has played key roles in building bridges between city governments, cross-sector organizations, and diverse communities. Her leadership helped expand the Atlanta's Mayor's Office of International Affairs and establish the City's first Office of International and Immigrant Affairs.
Throughout her career, Vanessa has collaborated and developed strategic partnerships with organizations such as the United Nations, the State Department, the Carter Center, U.S. edition of Smart City Expo World Congress and Fortune 500 companies. She has welcomed international delegations and worked closely with government agencies, diplomats, business, educational, and community leaders to promote inclusive policies and sustainable growth.
Recognized for her dedication to empowering women and youth, Vanessa has received several prestigious honors, including the French National Order of Merit, Georgia State University's 40 under 40, and "50 Most Influential Latinos in Georgia", four times. She is fluent in French, Spanish, and English, and conversational in German. She is part of various boards including the Congress for New Urbanism Atlanta Chapter, BoldImpact, the Georgia Technology Association's Smart Communities & Sustainability Society, Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as International Business Chair, the Children Museum's Exhibitor & Programming Board, and MASSIVE.
THESHAREDWORLD was born from Vanessa's yearning to create a better world for humanity but also her son Max, the original inspiration behind the organization.
