SuperSouth: Global Climate Policy for a Sustainable World

Big thank you to Jon Hutson, Eric Pinckert, and their team for the vision to have an international segment at this year’s Super South. Given the current state of global affairs, withdrawals from climate agreements, the intensifying challenges of climate change, and the status of the UN SDGs, it was timely and essential to host a discussion with four Consul Generals representing nations at the forefront of climate action and SDG implementation: Consul General Rachel Galloway, British Consulate-General, Atlanta; Consul General Karina Guardia, Consulate General of Costa Rica in Atlanta; Consul General Melanie Moltmann, German Consulate General in Atlanta; and Consul General Mio Maeda, Consulate General of Japan in Atlanta. Key takeaways: Climate is also a security policy, and stakeholder engagement across all ages and sectors is essential. At TheSharedWorld we emphasize the importance of breaking down silos, building cross-sector bridges, and the importance of story telling to localize the SDGs.
